Performance Engine

The Colt Ralliart's 16-valve DOHC engine combines a proven cast iron block with a lightweight aluminium cylinder head. Boosted by a turbocharger and front-mounted intercooler, its 1468cc capacity delivers an impressive 147 bhp and 155 lb.ft of torque, resulting in a 0 - 62 mph figure of well under 8 seconds.

Cruise Control

Cruise control allows more relaxed driving on longer journeys when traffic levels allow by letting you remove your feet from the pedals. It is cancelled and driver control regained instantly when either the clutch or brake pedals are pressed.

Allshift AMT

Available with the standard 1.3 petrol engine, the 6-speed Allshift AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) offers the best of both worlds - clutchless sequential manual shifting, in which you simply push the gearshift lever forward to change up and pull it back to change down, and a fully automatic mode, ideal for more relaxed driving around town. Unlike a traditional automatic, the Allshift system returns even greater fuel economy and lower CO₂ emissions than the standard 5-speed manual gearbox.

ABS and EBD

Lateral slippage can easily occur if the rear wheels lock up due to braking hard on slippery surfaces or braking hard when at high speeds. ABS suppresses this by controlling the brakes' hydraulic pressure. EBD adjusts the rear wheels' braking force to the number of occupants and load to deliver braking force that is ideally matched to almost any situation.

M-ASTC (Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control)

Active Stability Control - If sensors located throughout the car detect unstable movement, such as lateral slippage, the Stability Control function automatically controls the brakes and engine output to stabilise the car.

Traction Control - If the sensors detect wheel slip when starting on slick surfaces, such as a snow-covered road, the Traction Control function automatically brakes the slipping wheel and governs engine output to enable a smoother start.

Suspension

The Colt adopts a MacPherson strut design for its front suspension, which provides excellent on-road handling characteristics. The rear suspension employs a torsion beam design. Both front and rear suspensions benefit from stabiliser bars for surefooted cornering performance.

Sports Suspension

The Colt Ralliart models have stiffer front stabiliser bars and uprated springs, dampers and suspension mounting points for sportier handling. The Colt Ralliart 5-Door also gains a front suspension strut brace and additional body structure stiffening by means of extra spot welds around the lower corners of the tailgate opening.

Auto Stop & Go

Auto Stop & Go (AS&G) enables the engine to stop automatically when the Colt ClearTec comes to a stand at road junctions or in congested traffic, the gearshift is in neutral and the driver's foot is off the clutch pedal. The engine restarts instantly when the driver presses the clutch pedal again to engage a gear.

ESS (Emergency Stop Signal System)

ESS (Emergency Stop signal System) reduces the possibility of rear end collisions by the rapid and automatic blinking of the hazard warning lamps to alert vehicle approaching from behind during sudden braking.

Six Airbags

To keep occupants in every seat safe in the event of a collision, the Colt Ralliart models are equipped with a 6-airbag system to provide protection from all sides. Curtain airbags extending along both sides protect front and 2nd-row occupants in a side collision, while the 1st-row occupants are additionally protected by front and side airbags.

A number of functions have been grouped together on the steering wheel for convenience and safety. Remote audio controls (left-hand side) and cruise control (right-hand side) are positioned for easy operation whilst keeping your hands on the steering wheel.

Coming Home Lights

When arriving home after dark, the Colt's headlamps can help illuminate the path to your front door - activating the full beam switch within one minute after turning off the ignition switches on the headlamps' low beam setting for 30 seconds.

iPod/MP3 Port

An auxiliary socket located on the front of the audio unit allows easy connection of a iPod/MP3 player, so you can listen to your favourite tracks whilst on the move.

Gear Shift Indicator

Displays optimized gear shifting points to the driver to encourage fuel-efficient driving whilst also reducing CO₂ emissions.

Modified final gear ratio

Will result in less engine revs at any given speed compared to normal models.

Economy optimsed engine

Is designed to reduce internal friction using low-viscosity oil.
