The sad fact is that not everyone on the road is as aware and alert as you, so it's good to know that the Colt incorporates a particularly comprehensive range of safety features. Its distinctive styling plays an active part, with the sloping bonnet, large window areas and slim pillars ensuring excellent all-round vision but, should the unthinkable actually happen, front and rear crumple zones, side impact bars, extended-thickness body panels and strategic spot welds maintain the integrity of the cabin space regardless of the direction of impact. Of course, ABS brakes with electronic brake force distribution, dual SRS airbags, child-proof rear locks and an Emergency Stop Signal System (ESS) are all standard. On the Colt Ralliart, oversteer and understeer are automatically detected and corrected by Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control (MASTC) - a feature normally reserved for much larger cars. But then, you'd expect nothing less from a Colt.
