Warehouse Operative

Opportunity Overview:

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our friendly, busy team on a full time permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to every customer, every time
  • To provide the end customer with an error free service
  • To carry out routine dispatch procedures on a daily basis. This will require the correct identification movement and packing of stock items
  • To ensure that all stock items are stored in the correct location at all times
  • To complete basic paperwork in order to aid the accurate control of stock
  • To ensure wherever possible that no damage occurs to any stock items within the warehouse
  • To ensure that all safe working practices for the warehouse are followed at all times. This includes the safe operation of all machinery and also the correct lifting, movement and stacking of all stock items
  • To report any defects detected to a Supervisor as soon as possible
  • To ensure that the warehouse and its associated areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Carry out any other departmental duties as required by management
  • Maintain the Colt Car Company Limited image at all times through good relationships with suppliers, dealers and the general public. As and when requested to attend national and regional meetings, trade events, shows and to visit dealers if necessary to provide advice

Essential

  • Sound understanding of Maths and written English
  • Hold a fork lift licence or be willing to be trained for one
  • Hold a first aid certificate, or be willing to be trained for one
  • Able to locate and identify stock items
  • Previous warehouse or parts supply experience
  • Able to work under pressure and to specific deadlines
  • A team player able to communicate effectively
  • Well organised and conscientious
  • Able to carry out manual tasks as a daily routine
  • To be fully aware of Health & Safety requirements
  • Willing to work overtime as required within reason
  • Willing to work shift patterns as required by the Company

Desirable

  • GCSE/equivalent Math’s and English - Grade C/equivalent or above
  • First Aid certificate
  • Working knowledge of Mitsubishi Kerridge systems
  • Forklift licence
  • Qualification in stock control/warehouse procedures
  • Health & Safety qualification
  • Previous experience of retail/customer facing work

This is a full time permanent position covering the hours of 10.30am – 6.30pm, Monday – Friday.
