What is Inteligent MotionWhat is Inteligent Motion

The transport sector accounts for a little over 20% of all global CO2 emissions.

Of this, around 70% are generated by vehicles on the world's roads. Yet vehicles must be a part of a sustainable future for people, society and the planet, so at Mitsubishi Motors we consider it our responsibility to find a solution - a way to realize a sustainable low-carbon transport society, whilst maintaining the convenience and independence of humanity through the automobile.

The future is electric

At Mitsubishi we believe that electric vehicles (EVs) powered by clean electricity are one way of replacing fossil-fuel burning cars to solve the transportation issues of the future and we are the first automaker to bring an EV to the global market. It is intended that electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles will account for at least 20% of our total production by 2020.

Of course, a sustainable society means protecting the environment by assessing the environmental impact of all our products at all stages in their lifecycle. In addition to help prevent global warming by reducing the emission of greenhouse gases we are also making strives to restrict emissions of substances harmful to the environment during the manufacturing process and to reduce waste and maximizing efficient use of resources by promoting the conservation of resources and recycling.

An environmental roadmap

At Mitsubishi we have a clear environmental roadmap in place for our near-future environmental policies up until 2020. We aim to reduce vehicle-produced global line-up emissions by 50% from the 2005 level and to achieve a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions during the production process compared with the same year. The targets are ambitious; they have to be, for the stakes are high.

We call this intelligent Motion.
